Patrick & Eileen Keane took the brave step of going into business on their own. Like his father before him, Patrick was an accomplished watchmaker, while Eileen had considerable experience in retailing.
Keanes began life in a small upstairs room in Patrick Street in Cork. Within 2 years, Patrick and Eileen were able to rent a small shop at 94 Oliver Plunkett Street
Patrick & Eileen expanded to Co. Kerry, where they purchased a premise in Killarney - becoming one of the leading jewellers in Kerry.
The Clancarthy buildings went up for sale and Keanes Jewellers bought 93, 94, 95 Oliver Plunkett Street. Keanes arranged to finance the purchase and the business entered a new era.
On the 11th of November 2002 the company expanded to Limerick to what was the former Benetton shop at 10 O’Connell Street, one of the most focal locations in the city.
In 2018, Keanes embarked on the digital format, entering a new era by introducing our website.
In September 2021, we embarked on an exciting new project: the renovation of our Cork shop. By the end of 2022, we introduced a spacious and comfortable space, enhancing your shopping experience at Keanes.
